Wolverine Clearwater Gortex Hiking Boot: By Greg Jacobsen

Being in the Army I have mostly worn Army boots when hunting and fishing for most of my life so it was going to be hard to convince me that "hiking boots" could somehow be better.

The Wolverine Clearwater Gortex hiking boots fit perfectly and felt wonderful on my feet right out of the box. During my R&R from Iraq I wore them for two weeks straight of hiking and fishing and put over 40 miles on them. I went through streams, scrambled over rocks, and traversed miles of hard terrain through the mountains of Colorado.

These waterproof hiking boots kept my feet dry and warm the entire time. I was worried that as comfortable as they were, my feet they would heat up and sweat but these boots incorporated the breathable technology of Gortex and actually lived up to the hype--no problems whatsoever in that arena. I put these boots through their paces and treated them rough and fell in love with their comfort and utility.

During my initial test, the right boot had part of the stitching gave way and come loose. In order to determine if this was a one-time manufacturing defect or a stitching and manufacturing flaw in all of these boots I retested a new pair once I returned from Iraq.

They have held up tremendously on hikes and all day pheasant hunts through mountain, desert, and wetland environments. I am not easy on boots and this was enough proof for me. I have no qualms recommending these boots to all outdoorsman.
